The MCA in partnership with its members has conducted an extensive examination of into 20 years of safety data from Australia’s minerals industry which has uncovered critical new insights into preventing fatalities.
While progress has been made in identifying high-potential risks, the findings make clear that a shift in thinking is needed to ensure zero fatalities.
To support this transformation, the MCA Fatality Prevention Project was established in partnership with leading safety experts from across the industry.
The project has translated the research into practical communication tools that can be used on sites and across organisations, including:
- Detailed PowerPoint presentations to help safety professionals apply the research to company and site-level practices
- Posters, dynamic whiteboard assets and short video presentations for use in inductions, toolbox talks and broader safety programs.
