The NT Mining Cadets Program gives Territory students the opportunity to explore careers in the resources sector while completing school. Delivered in partnership with MCA NT, the Northern Territory Department of Education and Training, and Charles Darwin University, the program combines a nationally recognised qualification with workplace learning, industry engagement and structured work experience.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to students who:
- Are enrolled in Year 9 or 10 at a Northern Territory secondary school at the time of application
- Have the support of a parent or guardian
- Have the support of their school VET Coordinator
- Are interested in the mining and resources industry
- Are willing to participate in vocational training, work experience, industry activities and professional development
What you’ll gain
- A nationally recognised Certificate II in Workplace Skills (BSB20120).
- Workplace learning, industry engagement and structured work experience.
- Exposure to a wide range of careers across the resources sector.
- Practical skills in communication, teamwork, technology and business operations.
- Pathways into further training, apprenticeships and employment.
