Amanda Lacaze

Ms Lacaze was appointed Chair of the Minerals Council of Australia in May 2026 and is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading mining executives. She served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lynas Rare Earths from 2014 to 2026, leading the company through a period of significant growth and establishing Lynas as the world’s largest producer of separated rare earths outside China, and became a director of Vulcan Energy in August 2026.

 

Ms Lacaze has more than 25 years of senior executive experience across mining, telecommunications, marketing and consumer goods. Prior to Lynas, she held leadership positions including Chief Executive Officer of Commander Communications, Executive Chairman of Orion Telecommunications and Chief Executive Officer of AOL|7. Earlier in her career, she held senior management roles at Telstra and ICI Australia (now Orica and Incitec Pivot) and commenced her career with Nestlé.

 

Ms Lacaze holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Australian Graduate School of Management. She is a member of Chief Executive Women and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
