Suzy Retallack

Suzy Retallack joined Newmont in 2019 as Vice President of Health, Safety and Security and was promoted to Chief Safety and Sustainability Officer and Executive Australia in 2023. Suzy has worked in the mining industry for over 20 years, progressively holding more senior global Health, Safety, Environment and Security leadership roles across multiple commodities.

Suzy is a recognized industry leader, with a track record of developing and executing safety and sustainability approaches, through a people centric approach. She works with a firm focus on improving operational performance through effective partnership and is known for building teams that are caring and respectful. Suzy has responsibility at Newmont for leading Newmont’s strategic direction and overseeing performance for of health, safety, security, social performance, environment and the cultural change work to build respectful workplaces.

Suzy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Western Australia, a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Master of Business Administration also from Curtin University in Australia. She is based in Perth Australia and a member of ICMM Principal Liaisons Committee (PLC).
