The Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) welcomes the announcement by MMG Limited (MMG) that it has entered into an agreement to transfer the Century zinc mine in north western Queensland to Century Mine Rehabilitation Project Pty Ltd.

For two decades Century mine provided significant training, employment and business opportunities for north west Queensland communities. This agreement will provide a new life for the site and support revived economic activity while demonstrating MMG’s strong commitment to mine rehabilitation.
Importantly, the substantial community trust established by the company will further Century’s positive legacy in partnership with local communities.
