We also promote commercial relationships between our members.
MCA NT maintains positive relationships with decision-makers, provides opportunities for information exchange such as conferences and events and promotes best practice through a range of external activities. We work closely with other representative organisations to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
The NT has a successful and proud track record for mining and the resources sector is critical to securing the Territory’s long-term economic success.
Mining has underpinned long-term jobs and economic activity including royalty revenue paid to the government over many decades. Deloitte Access Economics has estimated the total economic contribution of mining and mining equipment, technology and services to the Northern Territory in 2015-16 was $3.2 billion (10 per cent of total Territory activity) and 23,500 jobs.
MCA NT works on behalf of our members to ensure that the Territory’s resources sector is globally competitive and hurdles preventing sustainable and responsible growth in the sector are identified and eliminated.
